USA TODAY- US Health Survey: Too few Exercise, Too Few Smoke

Boy this article is just a shocker, isn’t it?

“Education makes a difference. The survey found that adults who had higher levels of education were less likely to be smoking, were more active in their leisure time, were less likely to be obese and were less likely to sleep as little as six hours or less in the past 24 hours.”

Did ya hear that? EDUCATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE! People who are educated tend to be more healthy. Of course, because they can afford the access to education about healthy lifestyles and the tools to manage them. The people who don’t have high levels of education, deserve to learn tools to help them create healthy lifestyles too. Say you have a low-income person and they’ve got a food addiction. They can’t stop eating fast food. It’s the only thing they can afford. But they don’t know they are addicted to it’s content or have the resources to find something healthier. How are they supposed to break out of their behavior if they don’t have the knowledge or the resources? It’s like you are being set up to fail! Sad part is, the less educated and underserved desperately need to know more, but we aren’t even at the point where many of the educated people get it. Look beyond the weight, and maybe we will….
